The universe of grants is huge and exciting, hopeful and exhausting. Helping you navigate the continuum from readiness and research to awards and acknowledgments – and the stratosphere in between – certainly takes a team. Sometimes, though, one experienced grants professional might be exactly what you need to help get the process moving ahead toward that North Star, guided by a strong strategy and achievable action plan. My work as a grants professional has treated me to a vast range of opportunities – from smaller local Foundations beginning with a Letter of Intent (LOI) to multi-million dollar, multi-year collaborative State and Federal grants. Do these needs resonate with you?
• Need to determine your organization’s readiness level to dive into the grants pool?
• Need team training to help enhance your skills, processes and methods to manage your grants program?
• Need quality writing, editing and budget development help?
• Need “grants day camp” temporary assistance with a staffing shortage, capital campaign, logic model development or new venture?
The path to preserving historic places is winding, option-filled and challenging - though ultimately worthwhile. My experience in the field of historic preservation is broad and deep, from architectural surveys and community master plans to preservation commission training, fundraising and leadership development. From my earliest days as one of the original National Main Street Downtown Revitalization local program managers to serving as Executive Director of three statewide preservation organizations, I have passionately advocated for protecting, preserving and promoting America’s irreplaceable historic sites and structures. Do these needs feel familiar?
• Need to brainstorm a project that seems overwhelmingly impossible?
• Need help to create a collaborative action plan or a logic model to tackle an urgent community need?
• Need guidance and ideas to refresh your tired preservation ordinance and help inspire your volunteers?
• Need money to actually get to doing what needs to be done?
