Roxanne is a passionate grants professional, consultant, and writer who partners with organizations across the nation to transform their funding landscapes. Through her consulting work, she empowers clients to thrive by connecting them with newfound and sustainable grant resources—turning ambitious visions into fully funded realities. With a career spanning over four decades in the nonprofit and municipal sectors, Roxanne has researched, written, and managed hundreds of proposals, resulting in over $40 million in combined grant awards. She is a Grant Professional Certified (GPC), a Grant Professionals Association (GPA) Approved Trainer and Mentor, and strictly abides by the GPA Code of Ethics. Her dedication to the field includes prior service on the Board of Directors of the GPA Colorado Chapter as Programs Committee Chair and as a long-time grants reviewer for the Colorado State Historical Fund, the largest statewide fund of its kind for historic preservation in the country.
From 2018 to 2023, Roxanne served as the Senior Manager of Grants and Innovation at Silver Key Senior Services in Colorado Springs. In this role, she collaborated with executive leadership to develop comprehensive grant strategies and secure innovative funding. She managed the research, writing, and compliance for a diverse portfolio of government, private foundation, and corporate grants. Roxanne was integral to Manager cohort training and development, and she served as the Program Director for the Veterans Companionship three-year national pilot program in partnership with AmeriCorps Seniors.
Complementing her grant expertise, Roxanne’s comprehensive background in development includes co-directing capital campaigns, executing annual appeals, building robust membership programs, and establishing planned giving initiatives.
Historic preservation is also Roxanne’s life’s work. Her storied career spans leadership roles with numerous national, state, and local organizations, including serving as Executive Director of Colorado Preservation, Inc. and Maine Preservation, as well as working with the Maine Development Foundation/Maine Downtown Center. She is the former President of the Historic Preservation Alliance of Colorado Springs and co-authored the city's Historic Preservation Master Plan. Roxanne has been widely honored for her advocacy in historic preservation and downtown revitalization through the National Main Street program. Her expertise as a trainer with the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions and her passion for cultural tourism also led her to become a Certified International Tour Manager (CITM), leading inbound international tours of New England’s most treasured historic and scenic sites.
Based in Colorado Springs, Roxanne holds a BA in Public Administration and an MA in Urban Planning and Historic Preservation. She is a published author and poet, and a graduate of Leadership Maine. Dedicated to her local community, she also serves on the Board of Directors for public radio stations Classical KCME and Jazz 93.5. Whether working as a leader, organizer, writer, public speaker, or trainer, Roxanne is equally at home in the Colorado Rockies and on the Maine coast.
